New Tip Tuesday

If you are like me, you love organization and being able to find things when you need them.  However, you can go broke purchasing bead and wire storage systems.  Well, I recently lucked out.  I was in the sporting goods department of a local department store and happened to glance down the fishing aisle (this is not a usual occurrance for me... I tried fishing once and ended up reading a book within about 5 minutes, so I am definitely not a fisher-woman).  There, right in front of me, was an entire aisle of organization tools!!!!!  I couldn't help myself.  I think I spent about an hour in the fishing aisle.  Because all the fishing bits are small and need to be kept apart, the storage systems are all perfect for separating beads.  Fishing boxes are also perfect because they are made to be taken on fishing trips... which means you can pack up your beading supplies and hit the road!  They even have organizers for holding spools of fishing line (they have sections that are spool sized and each spool section has a hole to pull the line from) that is perfect for organizing wire, fireline, string, etc...  So, today's tip?  Check out the fishing aisle for great organizers at a bargain price!

I love checking out the fishing aisle every time I'm in Walmart! It's so relaxing thinking what it would be like having all my beads and tools organized in a nice tackle box.

I recently discovered the tackle boxes. I bought a bunch, but I'm always on the lookout for more. I find myself organizing and reorganizing my beads and tools!

I just bought a tackle box for "travel bead kit". It was the biggest they had, but my travel beads keep multiplying and trying to outgrow it! It is incredibly rugged, and has wonderful compartments!

Be careful with some of those tackel kits...
I had one (still do, but several years old), it has those plastic create you own compartment divider things so you choose the size of your compartment.
Anyways, when the container tipped over, the beads mixed... If you get one of these, make sure to get some stirafoam or something to keep things in place.

Marsspyder -- I know the feeling! every time I travel and take beads with me I have to pick specific projects to work on and pack only the things necessary for those projects.

Angie -- good point! I actually had my seed beads get all mixed up because of one of the trays with removable dividers. I only use the customizable trays for big beads that are easy to separate now. I didn't even think of using styrofoam or something! Thanks for the idea!
